Research
The Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC) conducts two kinds of research:
Research that explores the strategic impact of design and the contribution of designers to economic, social and environmental goals.
Research on the design sector, design workforce and design firms.
The Design Industry Advisory Committee conducts, collects and publishes research that demonstrates the value added impact of design. This research is critically important for a number of reasons.
DIAC’s design research helps the business and social community to understand the critical role of designers to the economic and social well being of Toronto, Ontario and Canada.
DIAC’s design research contributes best practices and case studies to build the business case for design.
DIAC’s design research supports the strategic positioning of design within all levels of government and contributes to the rationale for the establishment of a national design strategy.
